Horrid service from server Mandy, besides the starting sit down at the table and asking for our drinks + orders she never checked on us once. She brought a plate of cold food and walked off only to bring a refill 5 minutes after my cup had ran empty without saying a word. I couldn’t inform her of the cold food (macaroni was hot but Baby Baker Potatoes were obviously old + cold) for she was nowhere to be seen during our whole meal and she walked off as soon as she sat down the cup of lemonade. As I finally get my check she proceeds to talk at the bar with my card in hand rather than ring me up so I can leave. I always get upmost service from servers like Roman with multiple table check ins and actually being asked about the food quality. Doug I hope you read this review and maybe address some issues, love your restaurant but had an awful time.
Food is good! And always has been. That’s what keeps us coming back.
Great atmosphere and friendly Service, our waitress Ashley was super helpful and sweet at the bar tables this evening! Food was good, wouldn't call it the BEST BBQ, but it's good and the choices of sauces are great and unique. Wings are also good.
Food is fantastic. Atmosphere is warm, cozy. Owner and bar keep are friendly, welcoming and attentive. Being from TX, had to try the brisket, ( most people mess it up) not them. Not smothered in sauce where you can't taste the meat lol it's just right with flavor. Don't need knife to cut. Ribs were delicious. Fried pickles are the best we have ever had! We've had a lot! Definitely a stop you need to make.
They just started charging the customer the convenience fee to use credit/debit cards. I find that very tacky. And the waiter experience is hit or miss. Sometimes they are great and others we hardly see them and aren’t willing to help. Overall very inconsistent and frustrating experiences. Also. Wish they would tell us what they have run out of as soon as we start looking at the menu. The last 2 times we go to order and they say “oh we are out”. Waste of time.
Service was great. We sat at the bar because it was a long wait. Fine by us. The food was mediocre. I'm a hard core BBQ guy who owns several smokers, so I'm a bit biased. Ribs had little flavor and we're a little mushy, indicating they may have been wrapped for some of the cooking process. The pulled pork was mostly dark muscle, which by itself isn't something I would serve to my guests, and it too had little flavor besides smoke. The brisket was way too tough. Could not pull and separate any slices, as it should be easy to pull apart. The brisket flavor was odd, somewhat like ham to me, not enough rub flavor. Baked beans seemed to be right out of a can, no brisket or bacon in it and no pepper or onion that I could find. The mac and cheese was very good. Sauce bar was disappointing. I'll take Mission BBQ in Roanoke any day, next to what comes from my own smoker. Good food, just doesn't meet my standards which are unusually high.
